For those who crave a bit of nostalgia. S’more which is actually a contraction of the phrase "some more” was always an American tradition which we now have here in the U.K. So to add a double twist to our recipe we used traditional British digestive biscuits to serve, which will certain make you want more!
S'mores Mocha will take you back to cool nights around the campfire. Imagine the scent of toasted marshmallows mingling with the rich aroma of melted chocolate and burnt biscuit—this indulgent drink has it all.
We used Maritime Mornings Coffee, a medium roast from Brazil that brings the delightful flavours of chocolate and biscuit to the forefront. It provides the perfect espresso base to this chocolatey mocha drink.
This is the ultimate comfort drink to enjoy this winter.
Ingredients:
- 18g freshly ground Maritime Mornings coffee
- 1tsp premium hot chocolate powder
- 200ml milk of your choice
- Vanilla pods (Vanilla essence works just as well)
- Dried raspberries (for garnish)
- Marshmallows/Biscuits (Because why not!)
Method:
- Start by adding one teaspoon of hot chocolate into your desired mug.
- Then grind 18g of coffee and place it in the portafilter.
- Tamp the grounds evenly with medium pressure
- Extract the espresso, aiming for a 28-second extraction (+/- 5 seconds). It should appear thick and creamy.
-
Scrape fresh vanilla from half a pod, or for convenience, add vanilla essence to taste (use sparingly, as you can always add more but can’t take it out). Combine this with 200ml of your preferred milk and steam them together for a warm, sweet flavour.
- Pour the vanilla milk into the espresso mixture if you have latte art skills like our roaster Ted then go for it.
- Sprinkle dried raspberries on top for a tart finish that complements the sweetness of the drink.
- Finally serve with a digestive biscuit and a marshmallow or two and get dunking!
